Just a glimpse into my world....

Hi! I am Cathleen. I am a 3rd grade teacher in Delaware. I have a 14 year old daughter, Amie, and a 12 year old son, Brett. We spend a lot of time together. My daughter is a goalie for her JV Field Hockey team and the center for her JV Basketball team. She hopes to make the JV Softball team. My son is the 3rd baseman on his Major League team, he wrestles, and he will be starting basketball this year. Taking both of them to practices and then watching their games has become my social life! Naturally, school comes first in our house so keeping their grades up is a given. We manage to squeeze in fun activites when possible.

When I have time...........

When I have time for myself I do enjoy making craft type items. I have taken tole painting classes. I just took a class to paint on slate. Painting on sweatshirts is something else I enjoy doing. I have developed an interest in the computer but I have so much to learn. I was experimenting and 'somehow' disabled the programs and everything had to be reinstalled!!! Now I am a little more careful about what I am doing!!! I hope to take a class in stained glass making soon.

My other interests include.....

My other interests include music. I love most kinds of music. Opera and heavy rap are not included in my favorites! I play music in my classroom. The kids love it! They are surprised that I like the same kinds of music they do! I find that playing music helps them to work more quietly and steadily. We like to go boating, crabbing, and fishing. Amie and Brett love to go tubing! After we get a few crabs we go for a ride in the tube. I love to sit in my chair and watch them have so much fun ! I thoroughly enjoy going to dinner theaters. I especially like musicals. I hope one day to see a show on Broadway. Taking drives, going for walks in the woods, having picnics, and just being with people I care about is fun for me. I enjoy the simple things in life. Materialistic things are meaningless to me if I am not happy. Teaching is one of my greatest joys in life. Teaching makes me feel happy, it is fun, and it is a creative outlet for me. There is no other job I would rather have than to be an important part in a child's life.
